Very hard to believe! But my lactation consultant told me the same thing. Cow's milk causes skin allergies in children because they cannot digest cow's milk well. I am now breastfeeding and have started to eliminate cow's milk in my diet.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/features/article388488.ece - this article I found after a tip by my friend walter forces me to correct myself. Thus I say, children can breastfeed as long as both mother and child are comfortable. However, I still stand by the fact that cow's milk is not a substitute for breastmilk.
